“Yoga strengthens your body, calms your mind, and brings happiness to your soul – this is what I love about yoga.”

My goal as a yoga teacher is to inspire students of all levels to achieve their personal goals and reach their full potential in every practice. Working with students individually and helping them to do their best every time they step onto the mat makes me the happiest. As I am still learning German, I do my best to teach all my classes in German.
My yoga journey began in 2008 at the Baptiste Power Vinyasa Studio in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I was fascinated by the intense physical exercises of this powerful style and soon fell in love with the hot yoga experience. From 2008 to 2011, I continued my explorations and practiced Bikram Yoga, also in Cambridge, Massachusetts. During this time, I began to realize that yoga can be much more than just a workout. Regular practice helped me control and eventually overcome a metabolic imbalance that had required me to take daily medication for several years. In 2012, I returned to Thailand with the dream of sharing the joys and benefits of yoga with as many people as possible.
In June 2013, I completed the 200-hour hot yoga training at the Absolute Yoga Sanctuary in Koh Samui, Thailand. After this training, I found a wonderful “yoga home” and my first opportunity to teach at Yoga Republic in Phuket, working as a private yoga teacher for private clients. I am deeply grateful to Jack Farras and all my friends at Yoga Republic for the wonderful time I had at Yoga Republic, where I also met my husband Ulf.

In 2015, I traveled to Mysore, India, to complete an Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga teacher training with Ajay Kumar, Yoga Acharya. This wonderful experience opened my eyes to new levels of teaching and practicing yoga.
In April 2017, I found my new home in Chiang Rai, where I run my own yoga retreat. For two years, I offered retreats including yoga and meditation classes, yoga nidra, vegan and healthy eating and cooking classes, and much more.

In June 2018, I returned to India for a month to reconnect with the spiritual roots of yoga at Yoga Vidya Gurukul Ashram and learn more about yoga philosophy, pranayama (breathing techniques), shatkarmas (cleansing techniques), and meditation. I received certification in traditional Hatha Yoga and Yoga Nidra – yogic sleep.

In April 2019, I moved to Hamburg with my husband and started working as a private yoga teacher again.
In 2023, we moved to the countryside in beautiful Nusse, where I was able to fulfill my dream of having my own garden. Now I hope that with our yoga studio, we can create another great opportunity for the village community to live a healthy and happy life in the countryside.

What My Students Say
Michael Tettke
Pook is an amazing and inspiring yoga instructor. She takes the time to help you achieve your goals and adapt positions to suit your own body. Somehow, she manages to do this, yet challenges you at the same time. I was surprised at how quickly I gained strength and flexibility.
Caroline Boysen
Pook is a great and very talented Yoga teacher. I love her attitude and her passion for all kind of yoga styles. When ever I am in Chiang Rai I do not miss one day to do yoga with her. Thanks for so many wonderul yoga classes.
Micha
Pook is passionate about yoga, and this passion shines through in every yoga session. She treats her students individually and with a great deal of patience.
Georgina Collins
As a beginner in yoga Pook was a fantastic instructor. I feel the small group was invaluable. Ulf’s introduction to meditation was also really enjoyable.
Thi Thumasathit
Pook is a terrific yoga instructor. I’ve been practicing yoga for 8 years and enjoy arm balances, and all of Pook’s classes were customized to include at least 3 different arm balances for me. All of her classes were a fair test of yoga — enough to challenge me and leave me in a tired, relaxed, sweaty heap after an hour.
Sangeeta Prasad
We had a wonderful stay. Both Pook and Ulf took very good care of us. My husband and I enjoyed the one on one yoga sessions and the meditation sessions. If you are looking to be pampered, with yummy food, private yoga, and meditation classes and a relaxed stay, you will love Omsara.
Johanna Lehmann
Great yoga classes catering to all levels. I am a yoga teacher and learned a ton of new adjustments from Pook and the pace of her classes is great. Ulf is an inspiring meditation teacher and I learned a great deal about different meditation forms.
Morenike Allen (USA)
Every yoga class was thoughtfully tailored to the needs of the practitioners, and I became more open and balanced with each class.
Elana Berman
What a lovely place to unplug, dive deeper into yoga asana practice and nourish the mind, body and soul. With twice daily yoga classes led by Pook, a well-trained teacher who brings an eclectic refreshing mix of a variety of yoga practice styles to meet each student’s needs in the moment, one cannot help but feel reconnected to themselves by the end of this retreat.
Janet Su
The yoga classes were aired with a number of different styles. Pook is a great teacher, she gives excellent adjustments. The classes are small and you receive very personalized attention. Her cues are available for every level.
Elke Bancken
We had the most amazing time at omsara yoga homestay. Pook and Ulf are such lovely and inspiring hosts. We enjoyed staying in their beautiful and comfortable home, having interesting conversations, delicious homecooked food and personalized yoga classes.
Javier Costa
Life changing experience. Three words define my stay: home, breathe, relax. Pool and Ulf are a wonderful couple that make you feel like your a part of the family from the first minute you arrive. I learnt a lot in the yoga sessions as they’re very intimate and the food is another level.

Pook is a very knowledgeable teacher in yoga practice, she adjust the asana to suit every individual and make sure we get the most out of it. I will always remember what she told us “honour your body, you are only comparing with yourself”
